INTERVIEW: Satish Hodage of YUJ Labs says agricultural residues, together with hemp, might be reworked into practical supplies that help the worldwide bioeconomy. Drawing on greater than 25 years of expertise in pulp and paper expertise, Hodage has developed processes that apply lignin and cellulose chemistry to create sustainable biomaterials. Talking on the NIHC International Industrial Hemp Fiber Summit at North Carolina State College’s Wilson Faculty of Textiles, he outlined YUJ Labs’ partnerships with stakeholders comparable to BioPhil Fiber to check and scale new options. Based in 2022 in Charlotte, North Carolina, YUJ Labs is concentrated on changing waste streams into invaluable inputs for industrial purposes.
